What is RCD testing, or safety switch testing?
It is electrical OH & S testing designed to check if the installed RCD at your workplace will perform it’s job of preventing a fatal electrical shock to your staff or visitors should they happen to use a faulty electrical appliance.
What is the difference between a safety switch and an RCD?
There is no difference. A Residual Current Device (RCD) is just another name for a safety switch.
Am I required to do safety switch testing?
RCD testing frequency depends on the environment of the outlets – in other words, how often you need to test is influenced by the type of work that your business offers and the workplace environment settings. If you have any questions about your company’s specific requirements, please contact us directly.
